Youth Lock In and Food Drive

It has been a busy weekend for the men's group and the youth. The men have been at the IGA collecting donations for the Corryton Food Pantry since Thrusday. Collections are up from last year! The Youth began Friday night with pizza, then we joined the men's group to help with collecting and sorting food. Afterwards, we went back to the church for a time of fellowship. The food drive continued through today. The youth group took in a moviethis afternoon. Be sure and be at church tomorrow morning for the announcement of the class that won the pennies for the pantry contest. I have heard rumors that a great deal of money was raised. Thanks to ALL who have helped with this worthy cause.

We are off to a good start with our food drive today. Remember to tell all of your friends, family and neighbors to come out and support this worthy cause. Let's top what we collected last year. The drive goes thru Saturday night.

Wednesday Night Youth

The youth met tonight to make plans for the summer. Our first big event is this Friday night. We will meet at the church at 6:00 for pizza. After we eat, we will join the men's group at the IGA to help collect food and donations for the Corryton Food Pantry. The need at the pantry has grown temendously. They are to the point of having to turn needy families away. Please come out and help support those in need in our community. Canned goods are great, but monitary donations are better. For every dollar given, they can purchase $7.00 of food. The men's group will be there this Thursaday beginning at 2:00 p.m. thru Saturday night at 9:00 p.m. If you can volunteer to help with the collections, they would be very grateful.

Memorial Day 2009

We had a wonderful service at Clapp's Chapel this afternoon. A great crowd gathered to honor the fallen heros who gave their lives for our country. Thanks to all who participated in this special service!

Wednesday Night Youth

Preparations are already under way for VBS. The youth are going to be very involved this year. John and Cathy have some great plans. Please begin praying for them and everyone eles who will have a part in this great ministry.
